Full support

The Traverse provides a fully-supported race with one tent per team, plus three meals per day. However, we are unable to cater for supporters in the race villages for obvious reasons.


You must arrange your own transport to and from the race start/finish. Please contact us if you require airport transfers and accommodation pre and post event.


You will need to arrange your accommodation up to the prologue. You may want to book accommodation for the 1st night if you arrive before Thursday and the night on your return/last stage. There are a number of B&B’s and motels in and around Napier/Hastings/Havelock North which is around 5-25km from the race village.

Daily massages are an important and one of the most soothing experiences of the event. Studies show that massage increases recovery and improves performance in multi-stage events, and it feels great! There will be qualified therapists who will be available to tape at each race village.


 A 20 minute daily massage is included in your entry but it is up to you to ensure you book a time and keep to that time. Missed bookings will be lost due to everyone having a booked time slot.


 Massage booking times will be taken at race registration ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS

Increase recovery time


Supporters can purchase a meal package for the 3 days on a first come first served basis. This will allow you full access to the race village amenities and main marquee for all meals. Please note only a limited number of supporter packages will be made available so please book early to avoid disappointment.


The cost of a supporter package is $250 per person. There is no accommodation included in this package.


Camper Vans

We have made provision for a small number of camper vans /caravans within the race village but there is a nominal charge for this. The additional cost for camper vans/caravan is $150 charge for “parking” space in the race village.


We cannot cater for large numbers of supporters as space is at a premium and so there are a very limited number of supporter places available on a first come first served basis.
